Ronda - Palm Sunday
Hermandad de Ntro. Padre Jesús en su Entrada Triunfal en Jerusalén y María Stma. de la Paloma (Fraternity of the Entrance at Jerusalem and the Virgin of the Dove)
The Palm Sunday morning is the time when, coming from the popular quarter of La Dehesa, the Fraternity of Nuestro Padre Jesús en su Entrada Triunfal en Jerusalén y María Santísima de la Paloma, (the entrance of Jesus at Jerusalem and the Virgin of the Dove), known also as "La Pollinica" (the little donkey at whose back Jesus entered Jerusalem), makes its procession.
At the moment, the fraternity has got 600 brothers, and about 50% of them are childs. The procession invades its quarter and the centre of the city of white and yellow colours, of palms and of branches of olive trees, followed logically by the fun of the kids, making its annual procession with Jesus and his little donkey.
It is a tradition that, at the streets located at the route of this fraternity, the balconies appear hanging of them palms and olive trees brances, as a symbol of the Entrance of Jesus at Jerusalem.
White robe with multicoloured scarf for the penitents of Jesus and white robe wand painted hood for the penitents of the Virgin.
This fraternity was founded at the end of 1952, with the help of the Salesians' Priests by a group of friends. At these dates, the sculpture of Jesus on the donkey was buyed at the village of Olot (Gerona) arriving it to Ronda at january of 1953, the same year it started to make the procession with alumns of the Salesian School El Castillo across Ronda's streets. At 1997, the fraternity's government ordered a new sculpture representing the Virgin of the Dove, made by the artist of Seville Juan Antonio Rodríquez García «Ventura».

It is a wood carved platform throne, made at the Trade School of Ronda at 1995. It has got four wooden vases at its corners, also wood carved and goldened. The platform is carried by four beams.

Hermandad de Ntro. Padre Jesús del Prendimiento, Ntra. Señora del Rosario en sus Misterios Dolorosos y San Juan Evangelista (Fraternity of Jesus Captive, the Virgin of the Rosary and St. John Evangelist)
A group of young people belonging to fraternities decided at 1993 to found a church's association with the name of Jesus Captive, the Virgin of the Rosary and St. John Evangelist.
At that year they also ended the first draft of their rules. The following year they decided, as organization committee, to buy one sculpture of the Virgin of the Rosary, which arrived to Ronda at the summner of 1995, done by the sevillian artist Juan Antonio Rodríguez García "Ventura" and made of cedar wood being the result a pure sevillian style sculpture.
The baroque and natural size sculpture of Jesus Captive arrived to our city at the spring of that year, being the religious benediction of the sculpture celebrated at march, 19th, at the church where it is located, the church of St. Cristobal, being the godfather of it the Union of Fraternities and Brotherhoods of Ronda. It is an sculpture of the sevillian artist Manuel Ramos Corona.
The colours of the Fraternity are white and black.
The fraternity plans to make its procession at the evening ot the Palm Sunday. At the beginning of July of 1994 they did a first draft of rules and it was given to be examined to the Union of Fraternities and Brotherhoods.
They continue organizing its religious act worshiping its sculptures and also continue collecting money of buying all the necessary elements for the coming procession. They organize acts like summer concerts, sale of lottery and each year, a Lent's time concert, where the best Holy Week's music bands can be heared.
Hermandad de Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Salud en su Prendimiento y María Santísima de la Amargura (Jesus being arrested and the Virgin of the Bitterness)
In the midle of the 20th century (1949) D. José Muñoz Valenzuela begun to found the fraternity of Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Salud en su Prendimiento y María Santísima de la Amargura (Jesus being arrested at the Virgin of the Bitterness), also known as the gypsies fraternity. After tragical family problems, the development of the brotherhood was stopped and continued only 6 years ago. The gypsy family started working to recover the brotherhood, organizing a committee which achieved to restore the sculptures, work done by the sevillian artist Manuel Ramos Corona. When the images arrived to Ronda, they had an altar waiting for them at the Colegiata de Santa María la Mayor. The religious act of benediction of the images representing Jesus and the Virgin of the Bitterness was also done at the Colegiata on april, 2nd, 1995. The image of the Virgin was crowned at the same date, being present at that celebration Dña. Pilar Medina, Marquess widow of Parada.
This church's association does not have still the allowment of the bishop of Malaga for making its procession, but is on the way of having its rules definitely appointed in order to be a Penitential Fraternity.
It has got now lots of procession's elements, robes and other things of use at a fraternity. The Andalusian Antiquities Association and also people of Ronda gave as gift for the Virgin of the Bitterness the crown weared by this sculpture, made at Cordoba at the 19th century.
Among the activities organized for collecting money for the fraternity are remarkable a flamenco singing oper, some concerts and Christmas' lottery for sale.
